This painting was inspired by the delicate white cosmos growing in our alley garden. The background is a deep green and the natural deckled edges are gilded with gold paint. Created with layers of oil paint and oil pastel on gold-washed Fabriano Artistico cold pressed 100% textured cotton paper.

Oil pastels never fully dry but a fixative varnish has been applied to the painting and the piece will be packaged safely to ensure protection during transit.

framing suggestion: paintings with natural deckled edges look lovely framed “float” style. I strongly advise framing behind glass to protect the soft nature of the oil pastels. This 5 x 7 inch painting would display well in a frame with an 8 x 10 inch opening (as shown in photo).
